pumpkin hat

I saw this darling pumpkin hat being sold at our favorite pumpkin patch and knew I had to make one myself!

so I took to the web, looking for a pattern that I could use and stumbled upon this one. why reinvent the wheel? right?

honestly, it was not too challenging to make and looks so sweet on top of my little ones' heads!

I made the toddler / child size and made my stitches a little loose so that it's really soft and cozy.

SUPPLIES:

susan bates silvalume crochet hooks are my hooks of choice!!

I love how sharp the hook is, I feel like it does a better job of catching the yarn and helps me keep my work tension consistent.

for this project I used the 4mm hook, however I do feel as though I could have gone larger. I made my stitches pretty loose, because I prefer hats to be soft and cozy. but if I had gone with a larger hook size, I think it would have been easier to keep a loose tension.

[4mm is just my favorite hook to work with in general.. it works well with most skein weights, in my opinion]

2. YARN

I used hobby lobby's brand, yarn bee. I loveeeeeee yarn bee's colors! honestly, they are all gorgeous and you can't go wrong, no matter what skein you go with.

though, I ended up going with their easygoing golden brown for the body and willow for the stem.
